GSM Home-Based Security System(Bachelor’s Thesis Project)

Description:

For my Bachelor’s thesis🎓, I designed and implemented a GSM-based home security system🏠📱 using an Arduino Uno and a GSM 900 module📲 to provide a cost-effective home security solution.

Key Features and Responsibilities:

  • Sensor Integration🔍:
    • Integrated a piezoelectric sensor to detect motion and vibrations, calibrated to minimize false positives and ensure reliable detection.
  • GSM Communication📡:
    • Configured the GSM 900 module to send SMS alerts📩 upon detecting motion, utilizing AT commands for communication and error handling.
  • System Programming and Development:
    • Programmed the Arduino Uno in C/C++, implementing efficient code for system arming/disarming, alert messaging, and multiple contact notifications.
  • User Interface and Control🎛️:
    • Designed a simple LED and button-based UI for system status and user interactions, exploring future potential for mobile app integration📱.
  • Testing and Deployment✅:
    • Conducted rigorous testing to ensure reliability and responsiveness under various conditions, providing comprehensive documentation and user manuals.

Key Areas of Project Development:

This project introduced me to data communication📡, system security🔐, and resource-constrained programming🔧.
